Colonial Williamsburg: The Wall that Heals

Colonial Williamsburg is offering free admission to its art museums to active duty military, retired military members and veterans from Oct. 9 to 13 in honor of a special exhibition honoring Vietnam veterans. 

According to a press release from Colonial Williamsburg, "The Wall that Heals" is a 250-foot half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Etched onto the somber black granite walls of the memorial are the names of more than 58,000 men and women who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.  . 

Opening ceremonies for the replica wall are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 on the lawn of the Public Hospital and Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, located at the corner of Francis and South Henry streets.

The wall will be open to the public 24 hours a day, with free admission, from Oct. 9 to 13. For the duration of the exhibit, military members, including veterans with proper identification, will receive free admission to the art museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
