FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Military tickets to more than 30 PGA TOUR tournaments accessible via one centralized ticket hub in 2015

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.-December 12, 2014– Underscoring its support for the Birdies for the Brave® military outreach initiative, the PGA TOUR, with support from Quicken Loans, today announced the launch of a comprehensive, integrated platform that will enable military members across the U.S. to access complimentary or discounted tournament tickets.

Beginning with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii, the Birdies for the Brave Military Ticket Program proudly supported by Quicken Loans will enable active duty and Reserve military members, military retirees and their dependents to visit birdiesforthebrave.sheerid.com to obtain complimentary admission to 30 PGA TOUR tournaments in 2015. Discounted or in some cases complimentary tickets to many tournaments will also be available to non-retired veterans. Military members and veterans simply log onto the site and have their military status verified by SheerID on a complimentary basis thanks to Quicken Loans. Qualified military guests can then download military ticket vouchers that must be presented at the tournament gate along with a Department of Defense-issued ID or photo ID for admission.
“Our new military ticketing platform will build upon the PGA TOUR’s long-standing tradition of offering military tickets by making it easier and more accessible for military guests to obtain tickets to multiple tournaments across the PGA TOUR from one centralized hub,” said PGA TOUR Co-Chief Operating Officer and former Naval officer Charlie Zink. “The Military Ticket Program proudly supported by Quicken Loans is just one way we express our gratitude to those who put their lives on the line every day to keep America safe and free.”

Quicken Loans Vice President of Marketing and Sponsorships Art Steiber echoed those sentiments, saying, “We are proud of our role as the nation’s largest Veterans Affairs mortgage provider and we clearly understand and appreciate the sacrifices made by our military, as well as the unique demands and sacrifices that are placed on our American heroes. Quicken Loans has a strong tradition of honoring our brave servicemen and women and we’re thankful that we can support a program that provides them with access to world-class golf and all of the other activities taking place at PGA TOUR tournaments around the country.”

Named by the White House among the top 20 charities in the U.S. that support military families, Birdies for the Brave is a national military outreach initiative dedicated to honoring and showing appreciation to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
