The New Year is upon us, hard to believe it will already be 2015!  It seems like yesterday ringing in 2000.  As with every New Year there is a ton of FUN to be had.  We have put together a list of 15 different ways to ring in the New Year in Hampton Roads this year!

(8) Last Night on the Town-Beach Street USA

Virginia Beach will once again celebrate the arrival of the New Year with a festive “Last Night on the Town” New Year’s Eve event, hosted by the Central Business District Association. Held on Dec. 31, the second-annual event will begin with a family-friendly celebration at Pembroke Mall, then continue with entertainment at The Town Center of Virginia Beach and culminate with a live performance by headlining act, Eddie Money.

Family Entertainment at Pembroke Mall, 2-5 p.m.     

Bring the kids to Pembroke Mall for the Magic of Krendl & Company. Roving performers including stilt walkers and a cirque mime troupe will delight the crowd throughout the mall, while a yo-yo artist, animated characters and puppet storytellers entertain on several stages. Krendl’s not-to-be-missed Grand Illusion Show times are 2:30 and 4:15 p.m. Adults and children can celebrate together during a countdown celebration following Krendl’s performance at 4:15 p.m.

Toast to the New Year in Town Center’s Countdown Square, 5:30 p.m. - Midnight

Enjoy more roving entertainment and dance the night away to performances by Llamas at Brunch, The Fuzz Band and Seth Stainback & Roosterfoot. You will feel like you have “Two Tickets to Paradise” when Eddie Money takes the stage and keeps things rocking until the New Year. Count down to midnight and enjoy a spectacular laser light and fireworks show that will ring in 2015!

10:30 - 11:58 p.m., Headlining performance by Eddie Money on the Countdown Square Stage at Town Center

11:58 - 12:20 p.m., Countdown, Fireworks and Laser Light Show in Countdown Square at Town Center

Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase in Countdown Square at the Town Center of Virginia Beach. (14) Virginia Living Museum New Years Events

Virginia Living Museum offers a day-time family New Year’s celebration Dec. 31

The whole family can enjoy this day-time western-themed New Year’s celebration at the Virginia Living Museum on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meet barnyard animals from the Teeny Tiny Farm and exotic birds from the Peninsula Caged Bird Society.

Come dressed as a cowpoke. Enjoy games, crafts, face painting and tattoos. Meet Bubbles the Clown. Count down the New Year at noon.

Many activities require a fee in addition to museum admission. Purchase a children’s wristband for all additional activities $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Non-members must also pay admission of $17 for adults and $13 for children (ages 3-12). Ages 2 and under are free.

The museum is located at 524 J. Clyde Morris, Blvd., Newport News (I-64 Exit 258-A). Open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. Closed Jan. 1.  Call 757-595-1900 or visit thevlm.org for more information.
