PCSing to a new military community definitely has it's challenges! There are so many things to think about espeically if you are a military family moving to a new military duty station! I have found that the number one concern is always where to live which revolves around where are the best schools. It is definitely difficult to move to a new area that you know nothing about and try to figure out what schools are the best for your kids, thank god for the internet! It has sure made things easier with military moves.
However, once you determine where you want to live, the best school districts, next comes finding all of your service needs with number one often being what vet clinic should we use for our pets. I can not tell you how many times we returned from a trip but can't pick up our pet until the next day or sometimes until Monday if we return on a Saturday! This is always a bummer but not at VCA! VCA Boulevard in Newport News is open from Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM and extended hours on Saturday 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM. VCA Airline Boulevard in Portsmouth hours are Mon-Fri from 8am-6pm and on Saturdays 8am-1pm. The VCA Hampton Roads Animal Hospitals also offer a great program board 9 days and the 10th is free. This is a running offer so it doesn't have to be all in one stay.
