My family and I have lived in Hampton Roads area for over 10 years after moving here with the military. We have fallen in love with Virginia for many reasons. Virginia has it all, the ocean, the mountains, and all of this amazing history!
One of our most favorite places to spend time is Colonial Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg has so much to offer! At CW you can meet the tradespeople, shopkeepers, political figures, women, and the enslaved that call Williamsburg home. Learn of their hopes, struggles, and fears in these uncertain times. I love how everyone is dressed in the colonial clothing and all are in character! It is so fascinating to tour the buildings and see what life was really like back in the day. Not only do we love to visit Colonial Williamsburg and do the tours we also love to go for a stroll in the historic town or enjoy a coffee at one of the local restaurants in Merchant Square. If you have not been to Colonial Williamsburg it is definitely a must when visiting or living in the Hampton Roads area.
