(5) RING IN 2016 DURING VIRGINIA BEACH’S “LAST NIGHT ON THE TOWN”

Celebrate New Year's Eve at Pembroke Mall and The Town Center of Virginia Beach

Celebrate the “Last Night on the Town,” the City of Virginia Beach’s premier New Year’s Eve event!

The festivities kick off mid-afternoon at Pembroke Mall with family entertainment by Magical Solutions, Inc., including a children’s countdown and balloon drop at 5:00 PM. The fun continues throughout the night at Town Center with live music on multiple stages. This year’s headline band is national recording artist Cherry Poppin’ Daddies! A midnight countdown with a spectacular laser light show, fireworks, and Virginia Beach Ball Drop will ring in 2016.

All activities and entertainment are free and open to the public, with food and adult beverages available for purchase. A separate, ticketed VIP Party hosted by the Central Business District Association will be held stage side in a heated tent, providing VIP guests with the best seats in the house!

Town Center and Pembroke merchants, hotels and restaurants will offer New Year’s Eve rates and specials. WVEC-TV and BOB FM will broadcast live from the event. Free parking will be available for all attendees in the Town Center garages, with overflow parking at Pembroke Mall.

(6) New Year’s Eve Block Party Downtown Hampton 

December 31, 2015 @ 9:00 pm - January 1, 2016 @ 1:00 am

New Year’s Eve 2015 will be a Disco Inferno.  Celebrate the coming of 2015 with a Downtown Hampton Block Party along Queens Way.  Dance in the new year along Queens Way with DJs while enjoying a variety of restaurants, food vendors, and a traditional midnight “Ball Drop” (in a uniquely Hampton style…a “Crab Pot Drop”) from the top of Old Point Bank Headquarters.

Afterwards, begin the New Year with a blast! After the Crab Pot Drop at midnight, return to ultimate comfortable accommodations at Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel.

(7) The Virginia LIving Museum

Noon Year’s Eve  December 31

The whole family can enjoy this seventh-annual daytime New Year’s celebration at the Virginia Living Museum. This year’s event is space-themed as the museum turns back the clock to the 1960s Race for Space to launch a year-long 50th anniversary celebration. Dress as an astronaut or your favorite space alien. Enjoy NASA space exhibits and photo ops with the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion and the Mandalorian Mercs.

Meet Bubbles the Clown and special animal friends from the Teeny Tiny Farm. Make crafts, play games, enjoy fun activities. Count down to the New Year at noon and help us bury a time capsule at 1 p.m.

Time: Special activities 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(8) Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center

Noon Year's Eve Celebration | 11 am - 2 pm

There is no better place for families to ring in the New Year than the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center. Countdown to noon with a glittery ball drop, and a toast to the New Year. Face painting, magic, and balloon-making will be held in the Art Annex prior to the countdown, along with a photo booth and refreshments. After the “Noon Year” has arrived, kids can create their own fireworks by walking on the “carpet of bubbles’ that pop underfoot. First Night Williamsburg is an annual New Year's Eve Celebration. Now in its 23rd year, First Night Williamsburg delivers high-quality family-oriented entertainment on New Year's Eve at venues throughout the City of Williamsburg and campus of The College of William and Mary. It's a family friendly event, non-alcoholic with an afternoon Kid's Show followed by Main States that light up at 6 PM throughout the City of Williamsburg and The College of William and Mary campus..
