HAPPY 71st BIRTHDAY TO THE U.S. NAVY BLUE ANGELS
On April 24, 1946, the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Chester Nimitz, ordered the formation of a naval exhibition team to keep the public interested in naval aviation following the end of World War II.
The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have performed for nearly 500 million fans.
For the past 71 years, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels had the opportunity to represent the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps at cities across America.
