Hampton Roads Military Families: Join Hampton Roads Academy a Top Independent, College-Prep School For Their Open House January 21, 2017!

When moving to a new military community finding quality education for your child is always a top priority.  It is often difficult moving from schools around the country as education requirements are often different.  That is why many military families have turned to private school education.  They have found that it is often more seamless of a transition when moving  frequently. 

We are excited to partner with Hampton Roads Academy in sharing their upcoming OPEN HOUSE.  Hampton Roads Academy is proud to have many military families a part of the HRA Community!  Learn more about what HRA has to offer and the upcoming Open House below.

Can't Make the Open House?  Stop in for Walk-In Wednesdays

Get a quick introduction to Hampton Roads Academy by dropping by on any Wednesday between 9 a.m. and noon. Tours of all grade levels will be led by HRA's Admission Team, and receive information about the admission process to the Peninsula's "People's Choice" best independent school - the only one of its kind for students in grades Prekindergarten(4) through 12.

ABOUT HAMPTON ROADS ACADEMY

Hampton Roads Academy is an independent college preparatory school for boys and girls in grades pre-Kindergarten through 12.  HRA was founded more than 55 years ago with an enrollment of 60 students. Today HRA enrolls 600 students on the 50-acre suburban campus in Newport News, Virginia.
 
While known for its academic rigor, Hampton Roads Academy embraces the whole child philosophy. Character and integrity are more than mere abstractions. There are no locks on student lockers. When class work is done, close to nine out of 10 students are involved in sports and extracurricular activities.
One hundred percent of HRA students are accepted to four-year colleges and universities. Of that, 96 percent of graduates are admitted to universities or colleges designated as their top choice.
 
• The student/teacher ratio is 10:1.
• HRA offers more than 50 student-initiated and student-led clubs and activities providing numerous opportunities for students to assume leadership roles both at school and in the community.
• 19 AP courses are regularly offered at HRA. On average, 95 percent of HRA students will graduate with at least one AP class.
• HRA provides bus service to Williamsburg, Gloucester, Yorktown, Smithfield and Suffolk.
• HRA athletes compete on 44 teams in 22 sports.
