Mariners’ Museum marks 152 nd anniversary of Ironclad Battle NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – One hundred and fifty-two years ago, on March 8 and 9, 1862 , the great naval conflict of The American Civil War raged in the body of water known as Hampton Roads.
