Welcome to Patch/Chaffee
Serving E1 to E6, the Patch/Chaffee community offers two bedroom Spanish Revival-style homes built between 1931 and 1934. The village features single story homes on broad lots with rear service lanes. Each home features central air, a refrigerator, a stove, and a dishwasher.
The Fort Sam Houston Housing Community is divided into three housing villages, each with its own community center and housing office. Community centers feature a large pool, playground, and resident center.

Pool
Each community center has a full-size pool, a welcomed resource in the hot San Antonio summers and a great place to meet and greet your neighbors.
Playgrounds & Children’s Services
There are several playgrounds throughout the housing villages. A tot-lot is attached to each village community center. JBSA Fort Sam Houston Youth Center is also located on base in the Watkins Terrace housing area.
Fitness Center
Jimmy Brought Fitness Center is the main gym facility. Yoga, boxing, Judo, and speed cycling classes are provided, and many are free for active duty soldiers. Showers and sauna facilities are available, as well as a pool for aquatic fitness and pre/postnatal classes.
Community Center
Each Village Community Center is approximately 2,300 - 5,000 square feet with a large community room and computers, large kitchens, walk-in pool, and play areas.
Exchange
The exchange is open 8 a.m.- 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
