Military Warriors Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, founded by LTG. Leroy Sisco, (Ret), in 2007.
Our mission is to provide support and programs that facilitate a smooth and successful transition for our Nation’s combat wounded heroes and Gold Star families. This is a very fragile time for these heroes, and their families, and it can be difficult for many. Our programs focus on housing and homeownership, employment, as well as recreational activities and transportation assistance.
Through Homes4WoundedHeroes, our homes donation program, we award 100% mortgage-free homes to combat wounded veterans and Gold Star spouses of heroes who have fallen in combat. In addition to the home, each family receives three years of family and financial mentoring so that they may learn the skills necessary to become happy and successful homeowners. This program not only changes our families, but it also changes the lives of the generations that follow.
For family and recreational activities, we offer our Skills4Life program. Through this program, we offer golf outings, hunting and fishing trips for 100s of heroes each year.
MWSF Executive Director, Ken Eakes, brings Fortune 25 management background with experience in Leadership Development, Human Resources, Operations and Project Planning to our team. Ken is dedicated to honoring our heroes by assisting those whom have given so much.
OUR PROGRAMS
Homes 4 Wounded Heroes: Military Warriors Support Foundation awards mortgage-free homes to combat wounded heroes injured while in service to our country. The homes are for families who have severe and/or unique circumstances due to their injuries received while serving our country. In addition to the home, the families will receive 3 years of family and financial mentoring.
Skills 4 Life: Military Warriors Support Foundation provides recreational outings and peer mentoring in the Skills4Life program with hunting, fishing, golf, sporting events and family friendly activities. Our mission is to serve our nation’s combat wounded veterans and families, Gold Star Families, and active duty Purple Heart recipients and families by offering them the opportunity to bond and develop relationships with mentors and fellow heroes in the great outdoors.
Transportation 4 Heroes: Military Warriors Support Foundation is excited to announce the launch of our Transportation4Heroes program. We realize the transition back to civilian life can have many hurdles for our nation’s returning heroes. There are doctor’s appointments, school and work obligations, and various trips to provide the basic needs for a family. Having reliable transportation is crucial in accomplishing these things. For a variety of reasons, this is not always possible for our nation’s wounded heroes.
To support these heroes, Military Warriors Support Foundation has developed their Transportation4Heroes Program, which will provide access to reliable transportation as well as mentoring opportunities to develop the skills necessary to handle long-term vehicle ownership.
Homes 4 Gold Stars: Military Warriors Support Foundation is proud to award 100% mortgage-free homes to Gold Star spouses who’s loved one made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Recipient families will receive 3 years of family and financial mentoring.
Apartments 4 Heroes: When transitioning out of the military, there are many unknowns for the Heroes and families, to include where they wish to settle, long-term. This program is designed to support combat wounded heroes and Gold Star spouses whom are not prepared to take on long-term homeownership. Through this program, MWSF will provide a 1-year lease, in a safe, quality apartment complex. In addition, each recipient will be provided with a family and financial mentor that will guide them through a structured mentoring program that is designed to increase financial literacy and family stability. The goal of this program is to prepare the recipient for long-term sustainability, with the added goal of transitioning to a more stable housing situation, be it as a renter, participation in a lease, or home ownership.
