We are calling on all of our warriors to consider joining the #GivingTuesdayMilitary movement Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
You may have heard of the global day of giving and unity called #GivingTuesday. As an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, #GivingTuesdayNow & #GivingTuesdayMilitary will take place on May 5, 2020 as well as regularly scheduled, December 1, 2020.
In 2019, Jessica Manfre, Samantha Gomolka, and Maria Reed met in Washington DC for the first time in May of 2019 as all three represented their respective branch at the Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) Military Spouse of the Year award dinner where they were honored for their dedication to serving military families.
Shortly after meeting, they forged a close bond and shared passion for service. They wanted to create something special that would unite all the branches of service. Through this, the #GivingTuesdayMilitary movement was born.
The mission of this movement is to showcase 1 MILLION acts of kindness on Giving Tuesday by United States military members, their families, veterans, Gold Star and Surviving families, and patriotic supporters. They know this is possible and that kindness can change the world. It starts with YOU.
