Military Voucher Program Returns for 2022

Thank you to the Edward T. Bedford Foundation for supporting our military families in 2022!!! The voucher program is back and is available until the funds are depleted.

Through a generous donation made to our chapter on behalf of The Edward T. Bedford Foundation, we are able to offer a $50 voucher to military families who are currently active duty, reservists or retired. We are honored to have received this grant and award it back to you…our military families…so that your children can experience The First Tee! They can learn the game of golf, the Nine Core Values, Nine Healthy Habits and Life Skills to aid in their success both on and off the course!

This voucher can be downloaded below or filled out at the main office in Va. Beach. The voucher, along with your military ID must be presented at time of registration to receive the $50 voucher discount. Any questions, please call 757-563-8990. Please Note: Once the allotted funds are 100% used, the program will end until it is renewed the following year. Please contact our office to check status on renewed funding!

MILITARY VOUCHER

The First Tee of Hampton Roads is a program operated by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. 

Our main facility is our 55-acre Virginia Beach facility including a nine-hole walking course, driving range, putting green, short-game practice area and Learning Center/ Clubhouse. We also have an instructional course on the Eastern Shore, which includes a 40-acre facility located at Upshurs Neck.  It includes a nine-hole golf course, driving range and short-game practice area. In addition to our main locations, we operate Golf Program Locations at Lambert's Point Golf Club in Norfolk, Cedar Point Country Club in Suffolk and Cypress Cove Country Club in Franklin.  

Welcome to The First Tee of Hampton Roads!  Located next to Virginia Beach National Golf Club, we are a year-round youth development program that introduces kids to the challenges and rewards of the game of golf.

The First Tee of Hampton Roads is comprised of three locations. Our 55-acre Virginia Beach facility includes:

• Nine-hole course
• Driving range
• Putting green
• Short-game practice area
• Learning center/clubhouse

Our 40-acre Upshurs Neck facility located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia includes:

• Nine-hole golf course
• Driving range
• Short-game practice area
  
  
• Lambert's Point Golf Program Location operates from the Lambert's Point Golf Course in downtown Norfolk, and includes:

• 7,500 sq. ft. chipping area
• 10,000 sq. ft. putting green
• Covered, gas-heated driving range

Staff and volunteers at The First Tee of Hampton Roads include certified coaches of The First Tee curriculum.  Our team of qualified golf instructors assists in all programs, under the supervision of our Director of Golf Operations, Christine Levi and with the guidance of several PGA Professionals in South Hampton Roads.

Our programs include The First Tee Character Education and Life Skills Certification Program, golf summer camp, Friday junior golf tournaments, family golf time, Big T Little T tournaments and individual lessons.
