BRIDES ACROSS AMERICA CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY BY GIVING AWAY FREE WEDDING GOWNS NATIONWIDE
In collaboration with Brides Across America, over 60 Bridal Salons are participating in this annual
giveaway event
Press Release: Boston, MA (April 17, 2015) – Brides Across America is proud to kick off its annual Operation
Wedding Gown campaign at participating bridal salons nationwide. From July 11th-18th, in honor of
Independence Day, qualified military brides can go into a participating salon and receive a free
wedding gown. “Operation Wedding Gown” has grown and we are now able to grant weddings to
our military couples in need. Oftentimes military couples find it difficult to plan their “fairy tale”
wedding due to deployment, injury and/or economic hardship. With the collaborative effort, Brides
Across America has donated over 14,000 gowns to military brides and has gifted 20 weddings.
People who want to help the cause can donate gowns or financial gifts online at
www.bridesacrossamerica.com. We hope to convey how grateful we are for the service of our military
families by giving them an opportunity of a lifetime.
Heidi Janson, Founder and CEO of Brides Across America was recently on the Steve Harvey Show.
She was surprised by ten brides who shared their stories and gratitude. BAA was also gifted 100
donated wedding gowns after hearing gowns were lost during a flood this winter.
How to qualify and register for an Operation Wedding Gown Event:
In order to qualify, brides or their fiancé must be serving in the military; either currently deployed,
have a future deployment, or have been deployed within the last five years to Iraq, Afghanistan,
Middle East, Korea, Japan or surrounding territory. To find a salon near you, brides can go to
www.bridesacrossamerica.com to pre-register for an event. Brides must bring proper identification
along with deployment papers to be presented the day of the event.
